At East Ferry, we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. Our online learning platforms are carefully selected to support children in practising key skills, reinforcing prior learning and developing independence.
They form an important part of our wider curriculum approach, helping children build fluency, confidence and a love of learning.

Mathletics
Mathletics is our online mathematics platform, designed to support fluency and mastery in number and calculation.
Children are set weekly activities each Friday, linked to their classroom learning, which they complete during the following week. Teachers monitor completion and outcomes, using this information to identify gaps and provide additional support where needed. This ensures learning is reinforced and secure over time.
EdShed
EdShed supports spelling development through interactive games linked directly to the spelling patterns taught in school.
Spellings are set each Friday and children are expected to practise regularly before completing a weekly test. Teachers use outcomes to inform next steps in teaching and to ensure pupils build accuracy and confidence in written work.
Times Table Rock Stars (TTRS)
From Year 2 onwards, children use Times Table Rock Stars to develop rapid recall of multiplication and division facts.
Regular practice supports fluency in mathematics and enables children to access more complex problem solving with confidence and speed.
Oxford Owl
Oxford Owl provides access to high-quality eBooks and reading materials to support reading development at home.
We encourage regular reading at home to strengthen fluency, comprehension and enjoyment, and to develop confident, motivated readers.
Tapestry (EYFS)
In Reception, we use Tapestry as a shared learning journal between home and school.
It provides families with insight into their child’s learning journey through observations, photographs and key moments of development. Parents are encouraged to contribute their own observations from home, helping us to build a rich and accurate picture of each child.
This partnership ensures that children’s learning is recognised, celebrated and supported both in school and at home.
Code.org
From Year 1 to Year 6, children use Code.org to develop their understanding of computing and coding.
Through age-appropriate challenges and projects, pupils develop computational thinking, problem-solving skills and digital literacy. They learn how technology works and how to use it safely and responsibly.
Google Classroom
Google Classroom supports learning in Computing and is used across other subjects where appropriate.
It enables teachers to share resources, set tasks and provide feedback, helping to extend learning beyond the classroom and develop pupils’ digital independence.

Regular engagement with our online learning platforms strengthens fluency, independence and positive learning habits.
We encourage families to take an active role in celebrating effort, resilience and progress. Working in partnership with parents ensures children are supported to become confident, successful and independent learners.
