At East Ferry, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom. Our enrichment offer is carefully designed to broaden children’s experiences, nurture their talents and interests, and support their personal development.
Through clubs, educational visits, performances, competitions, leadership opportunities and special events, we aim to develop confident, curious and well-rounded individuals who feel a strong sense of belonging within our school community.
Extended day activities (EDAs)
Our Extended Day Activities (EDAs) form an important part of our wider curriculum and personal development offer. They are planned to enrich children’s learning, develop new interests and provide opportunities that complement and extend classroom experiences.
Across the year, children may take part in a range of activities, including:
• Sports and physical activity
• Creative arts and crafts
• Computing
• Wellbeing and mindfulness
• Strategy and problem-solving activities
Through regular participation in clubs, children develop important life skills such as teamwork, resilience, independence, leadership, creativity and communication.
Session times
Extended Day Activities take place after the school day and run across two sessions:
• 3:00pm – 4:00pm
• 4:00pm – 5:00pm
Families can select the option that best meets their needs. Some children attend a club until 4:00pm, while others may stay for a further session until 5:00pm. A full timetable of clubs is shared with families each term.
Payment information
East Ferry is a cash-free school.
All payments for trips, activities and Extended Day Activities are made securely via the Arbor Parents App. The app is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.

Supporting personal development
Our enrichment programme plays a key role in supporting children’s personal development. It is designed to ensure that all pupils have access to opportunities that build character, broaden horizons and strengthen their sense of self.
Through our wider offer, children are supported to:

• Work collaboratively with others
• Take on leadership roles
• Develop resilience and perseverance
• Strengthen friendships
• Experience success beyond the classroom
These experiences complement the academic curriculum and help prepare children to be confident, motivated and responsible learners, both within school and in their future lives
